Between 1968 and 2014 the Duxbury High School was located across the street from where the new building stands where sports fields and a parking lot now rest. In 2011 the town voted and approved the final design and construction funds to create a new building. The move from 130 St. George Street to 71 Alden Street happened in 2014. The new building is a combination of the middle school and high school in one building, which makes the grade span of the building 6-12. The building is a three story, state-of-the-art facility that cost the town 128 million dollars over the course of twenty five years.
